I'll be the first to admit that I couldn't stand Pimp Dragon from East Coast for a very long time. But now that I am watching the best of IWA-EC DVD, that cat's growing on me in a huge way. Also, didn't realize the ring announcer for EC did some commentary as well, and he is just freaking awesome at both! What is that dude's name anyways?

Mr. Christian?
He's the only one I can think of that you could mean. He did the ring announcing for most of the shows up until this year and filled in on commentary when PimpDragon was unavailable.
Now it looks like PimpDragon has moved to ring announcing and Vanceboy and Fattawn will be full time at the commentary.

Yes, I thought he was being called Mr. Christian on the DVD. Where is he going? This makes me sad if he will not be back.

It is rumored that Mr. Christian moved to Colorado to start a donkey rescue shelter. longhopes.org/Perhaps he would return soon if people donated just a few dollars to the donkeys?

Hell yeah, before I watched the Best of IWA-EC DVD my EC experience had been limited to two Masters of Pains and a Zero G Crown. Though I had loved those three shows, I didn't realize how great was the EC commentary until I picked up the Best of DVD. I'm not sure who it is who does this, but I love that every big spot is followed by an enthusiastic "Oh My God" in a Southern accent. Just like Joey Styles used to do in ECW, such a signature reaction really signifies a genuine shock/disbelief of the amazing action inside the ring.

The reason for the "Oh my God!" stuff is because the commentators have really no idea of what is going to happen. If you hear at the End of the 2008 Zero G I bust out a "what in the world?" because I was shocked by the ending of the match. I thought for sure that match was going the other way. We are just as surprised as any other fan.

Sound like a worth look at the DVD. Maybe I might get one and see what it's like.
