And to KICK HIM, I would have to be far from reality if I didn't see why you would have your doubts. This wasn't aimed at me obviously so feel free to ignore this or whatever, but I imagine it's because of the amount of shows and promises that IWA has been forced (or otherwise) to break, more so over the last few years particularly. You can understand why people might at least say "Well let's not get excited, and just see if it actually DOES happen to begin with", skepticism etc. but if it does happen then great stuff! That being said, maybe I haven't been a fan anywhere near as long as a lot of people here, or ever gone to a show live (being from a different country plus not being able to travel and all) but I do buy a lot of the DVDs from both Highspots and SMV etc. so I like to think I'm not just some random 'hater'.

i remember buying vhs tapes from ian at the shows...thats how long ive been around lol. so for me its different.
i remember having 4shots on thurs/fri/sat/sun all at dif venues, and maybe 1 no show on day 3 due to randomness...the stars were there, the tna stars were there, the paid guys showed up and it was in its prime 2003-2006ish/07

I don't think, with the exception of the 2004 TPI, has an event ever meant so much to me. With that, before I announce the 10th participant, I want to say we're opening up this years King of the Death Match tournament to giving 4 spots to pretty much unknowns. If you're an up and coming death match wrestler with the desire to participate in the grand daddy of them all, please send me links to videos of your matches, and a paragraph of why I should give you one of these prestigious spots. I need full matches too, not just clips or music videos.
Now, with that said, that leaves only 12 spots to impress you, the fans. That means I have no time for bullshit! Joining Drake Younger, Sexxxy Eddy, Devon Moore, Simon Sezz, Mosh Pit Mike, Chuey Martinez, Necro Butcher, Damien Payne, and Matt Tremont will be none other than multiple time King of the Death Match participant, Milwaukees own Dysfunction! That's right folks... the bullshits been buried and I am truly excited to have Dysfunction back in IWA. I've known this kid since he was 17 years old and know exactly everything he is all about and feel he is a great addition to this tournament. BUT, in order to win this tournament, he'll have to take Jeffrey Dahmers place as the sickest son of a bitch to ever come out of Milwaukee! Good luck, Dys... you'll need it! You'll ALL need it!

Ron Mathis is definitely a guy that should be considered.
Ty Blade, winner of CPW's 7 Deadly Sins tournament would be some new fresh meat for the KOTDM scene.
Scot Summers out of Texas or Lucky 13 would be another good fresh guy.
Some former competitors- Markus Crane, Reed Bentley, Neil Diamond Cutter, Pinkie Sanchez, Elkview Adam, Viper, The Hooligans, Tank, 2 Tuff Tony, WHACKS, Horace the Psychopath.
Not sure if either guy would be up for it but Suicide Kid and "Mean" Mitch Page would be welcomed additions if they're game.

So people that have known me for a long time say I'm mellowing in my old age and nothing may be truer to that than this announcement for the next participant in the 2013 King of the Death Matches. I've always tried to be a person to try not to hold a grudge... and in this business, trust me, it's hard. 12 years ago I made this man somewhat famous in the independent wrestling world by kicking the living shit out of him. Given the fact that I wrestled him back in August for his own promotion, and had a very good match with him, I feel it's time to give this man a shot at redemption! For as well as he did in the match, I'm not taking anything away from him, but wrestling in the upper peninsula of Michigan is NOT wrestling in the King of the Death Matches! So... with that said, the number 11 participant in the 2013 King of the Death Matches is none other than Peter B. Beautiful!

Well, folks, wanted to get in here and let you know some things we are putting together for folks that may be interested. We're putting together a party van from Louisville to Bellevue for King of the Death Match weekend, and if need be would make a stop in Indianapolis. The party van deal will include your ticket to the show, and a one night hotel room with double occupancy for one price. The van will leave immediately after night 2 of the show to head back to Louisville. So, if you need to work Sunday, you can do so. I will let you know more details as they become available to me (prices, times, etc.) If you're interested in this please let me know and I will contact you directly as I get more information. Keep in mind the spaces will be limited.

1) Bringing in people 'made famous' by Ian Rotten and 2) Relative unknown workers. Whilst these are good ideas for the tournament, please don't let them be a reason to bring back Mike Levy or indeed anyone on the same sort of level. Please make your own mind up who to book based on GOOD matches they have had (which I am sure you are right now already) and don't be convinced by people pushing backyard wrestlers as an ironic internet joke. As from what I read (as a fan) that is what sadly happened back then. Though maybe in the mean time Mike Levy has had training and actually gotten good, I have no idea myself. p.s. please don't take this as a 'troll post' anyone, just me saying some stuff that I hope will get read. Looking forward to the tournament

ian, how bout you narrow it down to 8-10 "finalist" that send you videos and links etc etc, and why not create a thread here for us to throw in our two cents. you in the end will still make your own descisions, but you say this is a more fan friendly KOTDM then usual..so why not let us see what the milk taste like before we buy the cow.

Neil Diamond Cutter as number 12 would be awesome! (but there are also a lot of others that would be sweet too)

Looking forward to the tournament Levy actually had a decent match with Pondo in IWA-EC after "the incident". He's willing to take some absolutely stupid bumps and abuse, as seen in his Carnage Cup appearance where he got burned REALLY BAD (which he was booked for BEFORE QOTDM, for the record, because that's how he greeted Chase and myself at KOTDM when we first arrived) He's also a genuinely nice guy. Shame he's best known for "the incident" and not for being a deathmatch guy who may not be the most talented, but will take abuse to make it work (see Elkview Adam)

3 way match, Mike Levy/John Rare/Spidar Boodrow. The way you described him, he sounds like he'd fit in any match with them two Was that story about Levy being 'pushed' verbally by people as a joke, actually true? Mike Burns seems to be mentioned in that story most times I have read it. On a side note, it would be interesting to see some of the more obscure guys that have been in some of the more obscure deathmatch tournaments. (XCW, UWA, SCCW as three examples off the top of my head), I've never seen most of the guys in them more than once or twice anywhere else before.

I wouldn't mind seeing Neil Diamond Cutter and Marcus Crane in the tourney. Both have proved themselves in the past. On a side note I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make it this weekend. I'd love to, but I got something scheduled for work that I still have to try and get out of. It'd be my perfect B-day weekend

Wow, so I've been away for a couple of years, and this place is still here. :-)
When I left, things seemed slow and nothing much was happening. Now there is a KOTDM 2013 happening. Awesome. Glad to see some of the regulars are still around. Obo, Skullz, long time no see. :-)
I still support indy wrestling very much. You've no doubt seen me in the front row of Masters of Pain, TOD, COD, and a few Chikara shows. Bellevue is a little out of reach for me, but definitely hope this tournament goes off cause its a definite DVD buy if it does.
I'll definitely be hanging around more often and keeping up with everything. Long live IWA. :-)
