Thanks to Suspect for the results...
New format. Numbered parts are match results and dashed parts are notes.
This would have been on the Twitter page as live results, but no one had service out there.
Let's See How This Goes...
May 6, 2009
Skateland - Campbell's Creek, WV
Ring Announcer: Adam Montgomery
DVD Commentary: Vanceboy - Fattawn
Official(s): Drew Taylor
- In an act of shear brutality, and something I wouldn't believe unless I saw it with my own eyes, before the show Fattawn threw away food. Granted, an Icee Pushup has to be one of the dumbest ideas ever, but still....shocking.
- To start the show ring announcer Adam Montgomery announced the new IWA East Coast Commissioner, Gypsy Joe! Being the man of the people that he is Joe enjoyed the rest of the show while sitting in the crowd.
- Referee Drew Taylor debuted his new beard. Some said he looked like Grizzly Redwood, others said a terrorist. I'll go with dirty Mexican terrorist.
1. Triple Threat Match
Zac Vincent def. Eric Ryan & Kalipso
[Pinfall - The Dreamcatcher]
(Zac Vincent w/ The Dreamcatcher on Eric Ryan for the pin)
2. Ricky Morton def. Colton Collins
[Pinfall - Roll-Up]
- Viper comes out for his match with his arm wrapped in barbed wire.
- For some reason Viper obviously thinks he's the one trying out, because he's going all out on Bulldozer. So much so that a "Viper" chant actually happened.
3. Viper def. Bulldozer
[Pinfall - Lot Rent w/ A Chair]
- A "We Don't Like You" chant for John Thorne. The crowd loves Axl Rotten.
4. Axl Rotten def. "The Passion" John Thorne
[Pinfall - This Is Gonna Hurt]
- I'm gonna get heat for this, but Axl/Thorne was a SQUASH!!~! [Wink]
- Eric Darkstorm out for his match. He picks up the mic and just as quickly puts it down. He "doesn't wanna lose another building".
- Great display of strong style, technical and high flying styles all rolled into one in this match. At one point Jason Kincaid even hits a Phoenix Splash and Darkstorm kicks out.
5. Eric Darkstorm def. "The Gift" Jason Kincaid
[Pinfall - Rolling Enzuigiri]
- Standing ovation from the crowd post-match for Darkstorm and Kincaid, including "that was awesome" chants.
- "Top three match in IWA East Coast history." - Vanceboy (about Darkstorm/Kincaid - post show)
6. Tag-Team Match
Irish Airborne [Dave & Jake Crist] def. The Day Brothers [David & Shawn Day]
[Pinfall - Assisted Double Stomp]
(Dave Crist w/ a Double Stomp on David Day while he was across Jake Crist's knees)
- Post-match former IWA East Coast Champion Trik Nasty and his manager Woody Numbers make their way to the ring while the Days are still recovering and convince them that the crowd doesn't appreciate them, and they agree. Trik also wants Gypsy Joe to ban chops from IWA after his loss to Roderick Strong at the last show.
- On to the match, it's nice to see that Trik Nasty has finally settled down after all these years, now being announced from "Straight From Fattawn's Momma's House"! Also, Woody Numbers is a dirty pirate. Everyone knows ninjas > pirates.
7. Trik Nasty (w/ Woody Numbers) def. Flash Fury
[Pinfall - Triple Rolling Suplexes into an Elevated Neckbreaker]
- Woody Numbers lariat!
- As has become tradition now someone has to sing along to Elkview Adam's entrance music, and this time it was the crew from North Carolina doing the honors.
8. Necro Butcher def. Elkview Adam
[Pinfall - Chairbreaker]
9. 10,000 Thumbtack Match
Mad Man Pondo def. "Misfit" Mike Levy
[Pinfall - Full Nelson Suplex]
- After the match Pondo announced that IWA has a new venue at the Oaksfield Gym in South Charleston, among others. We're not sure yet which of the new venues will be used for "Pondo's Big Ass Birthday Bash" (June 24th), but keep checking www.IWAEastCoast.com and we'll let you know as soon as possible.
