Sadly, part of the problem is people do not like the venue itself in Bellevue, my colleagues actually don't want to go near it...

I obviously never went to any of the early shows live. Could any of the old school fans (like Vic, etc...) comment on how the Bellevue venue compares to either the old House of Hardcore or the building they used in 2002-2003? Those both look pretty grungy on the DVD's... not much different than Bellevue.

The House of Hardcore was an old barn... but IWA made it their own... they were the only tenants so it had a very nice feel to it. Ian and Co. put a lot of work into that building... plus it didn't smell like dead animals.
The Clarksville building was a nice warehouse... not grungy at all.

I loved the Clarksville building, except for summer shows! I actually thought the Plainfield building was the nicest so far, but I've been told what it cost. Let's just say NICE=PRICY & DINGY = CHEAP!

My American geography is next to zero, so this maybe a totally pointless thing to ask, but where is the building they hold 'Shimmer' and such like in? That place always looks good, on DVDs anyway.

The building where Shimmer runs out of is the Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL. All American Wrestling runs out of there as well. At capacity the building holds right around 200 I think.

The Clarksville building was awesome, definitely not grungy... I can't speak on the House of Hardcore, because I didn't start attending IWA until 2003 but I wish I would have been around to experience it. I've heard nothing but great things about that building, and personally, I LOVED coming to the Clarksville building. It always helps when you have a building you can make home. IWA is looking into a lot of possibilities, guys. Your voices, contrary to popular belief, are NOT going unheard.

Yeah so, is IWA running close to/could they go into the 'Shimmer' building? I imagine running any show with deathmatches on it, bring a host of other issues into view when it comes to certain places, but who knows?
On a side note, I do remember some wrestling company running a show in a church once, and having a deathmatch. They got wrestling banned forever from wherever that was, woops!

Ironically, my church has the perfect room for it, but yeah, it would never happen.

guys, you're all too hung up on the venue. sure, that's probably an issue (the Bellevue venue does look like a disgusting, Hep-infested hole on DVD, at least), but exactly which venues has IWA drawn well in? are they promoting themselves in a manner than they'd draw well in another space? attracting a crowd isn't as simple as putting together a solid card and posting a single Facebook event, regardless of where it is.

re: shimmer building... it's simply politics.
The 2 major promotions that run there are another fed and Shimmer... IWA running there would cause lots of unwanted drama/beef/heat... that's my take on it. Could be wrong.

I did wonder about that, some buildings just wouldn't want IWA, no matter what wrestling they put on, sadly.

I remember IWA doing a show in Rock Island, IL. How was that venue? Did it draw fairly well? That is the closest IWA has ever gotten to me (1 1/2 hour drive) and unfortunately I was busy that day.

IWA MS needs to come back to the Louisville, KY--Southern Indiana area. This is where the original fan base is at. There are still a lot of us here who would like to see it no matter what troublemakers say or do to try and stop it. Most of those people are from other indies in this area which are quite frankly terrible anyway and not worth watching.
Back when the new owners took over and were looking for a spot for shows I suggested that IWA MS should run in Seymour Indiana. It is half way between Louisville and Indianapolis right along Interstate 65. There is a huge outlet mall setting nearly vacant on the east side of the interstate. They are always advertising spaces for rent/lease. This would be a central location for many fans plus you would get people off the interstate.
