Another sweet show from IWA Midwest this past Frday night. The show started with a reverse battle royal. The object was to throw a man over the top rope into the ring to start the match. The winner was one of my personal favorites, Big Poppa. It's good when a local boy takes the win.
Adam Buhler took on a new comer that showed he's new but was not new to wrestling. It was a good hard battle and it looked like Adam was going in the defeat column but he managed to turn it around for the victory.
Ryan Pheonix took on Christian Able in a see saw match with Pheonix the winner. It was good seeing Able in the ring again. It had been several years since I had seen him and he did not disappoint.
Chase King had a sweet match with Brian Espinoza. Espinoza caught a lot of flack from the fans for his sexual preferences. Very entertaining but where was the man bag?
Joey Grunge and Axle rotten were geared up to take on Ian Rotten in a handicapped match because of a missing Corporal Robinson. Ian came to the ring with Serenity saying that it wasn't fair that he had to fight alone. Ian's pleas became verbal assaults towards the fans and his opponents. This was laid out beautifully and the fans ate it up. Ian hurled an insult to one fans wife that almost caused a tussel between Ian and the fan's husband. Good stuff. When all was said and done, Joey came to the ring with the loudest pop of the night. Ian was happy to see Joey Grunge alone. He claimed now it was going to be one on one since Corp and Axle weren't there. While he was ranting, Axle came up from behind him. Ian and Serenity tried to upstage Joey and Axle but to no availe. The crowd was firmly behind Joey and Axle chanting such things as “ She's a crack whore.” and “ Axle's gonna kill you.” Just as it looked like Ian was going to have to go it alone after asking fans and even the camera guy to be his partner, Johnny Wisdom made his way to the ring. He offered Ian his hand and told the crowd he was going to partner up with Ian. Big mistake . The bell rang and Joey and Axle pummeled Wisdom. Each attempt he made to tag was ignored by Ian. With Wisdom down and out, Ian hit the ring. He took a stomping for a while. Axle took a chair and told Ian he was going to take him out and that mama never loved him. Joey entered the ring to get the crowd behind Axle and to goad him on. Axle then turned on Joey and clubbed him in the head with the chair. The Bad Breed were back. The two left Joey bleeding and busted up and went with Serenity to the back. Very fun match.
Konga Kong handed Stumpy a butt whoopin'. The only thing I can say is “ Stumpy, pull up your drawers.”. And don't waste the beer.
The Hooligans and the team of Drake Younger and Masada match was excellent. The psycho shooter and Masada made a superior team. The Hooligans always rock the ring. The match went everywhere and the moves were stupendous. It was fast paced and slow spots were few if any. Drake and Masada secured the victory but not without the Hooligans, Mason and Devin Cutter, coming back to take the loss out on the winners.
Since Matt Tremont couldn't make the show for good reasons, Neil Cutter faced Marcus Crane in the thumbtack match. These two are very entertaining and know how to get the fans involved. It was a good match played out very well. Neil scored the victory.
An injured Jimmy Jacobs took on Jack Thriller, the serial killer. When the match came to a conclusion, It was the one wheeled Jacobs who tasted victory .
Bucky Collins went after Oliver Caine with a vengeance. Caine found Bucky's weakness and took advantage full force. Bucky fought hard as long as he could pulling off some phenominal moves while injured but it was to no avail. Oliver Caine picked up the win and the IWA Light heavyweight belt. As Bucky lay in the ring a beaten man, The Bad Breed reappeared in the ring to beat the snot out of him. Joey Grunge came for the save with a huge pop from the fans. It was short lived as he was ambushed as soon as he hit the ring. With Bucky and Joey down, Ryan Pheonix charged the ring in an attempt to even the odds only to be taken out when he got into the ring. With all three heroes down, The Bad Breed and Oliver Caine had their way with them. Each taking a chair and placing them on the leg of Joey Grunge and Bucky and the arm of Pheonix, they stomped the chairs onto the limbs. As the night concluded, Joey made the announcement that it wasn't over. Next month we will see The Bad Breed and Oliver Caine versus Bucky Collins, Ryan Pheonix and owner Joey Grunge. Hope to see you there.
