I think all the grumbling and complaining is due to the fact that cancellations have happened time and time and time again...and the fans are just getting a little tired of the same old thing. In my opinion, nothing should have been made public (date of show) until EVERYTHING was cleared and approved. You tease the fans saying the show is set for the 28th....and then 2 weeks before the show the plug gets pulled. The fans are getting a little frustrated...it's like the boy who cried wolf. How many times in the last few years has IWA-MS announced there will be a show...and then turned around and had to cancel the show? Also, why do we never hear from Mike or Vince (is Scar still a part owner?) It seems Misty always has to update us and she also has to be the bearer of bad news (cancellations) and people take out their frustrations on her. It's not Misty's fault....she is just the messenger. I'm not saying I don't believe what Misty is saying...I know Misty is a loyal, long time IWA fan and has the inside scoop on things....but it would be nice to hear from the actual owners every now and then. I remember someone posting a while back that Vince and Mike were extremely busy with their real jobs. If they are so busy they don't have time to post a quick message on the message board every now and then....was it really a good idea to buy a (dead) wrestling company?
That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Aside from some slight wording changes, and the 'dead company' bit, I posted this exact message a while back too, it just seems bizarre to buy out a wrestling company if you don't have the time to run it, unless they just bought it for the video library and the pizza oven (which were both mentioned at the time). On a side note, does IWA really serve pizza at live shows? That would be awesome

I haven't seen him since about 2010. What company is your deathmatch tournament for? Also, yeah been looking forward to MOP for ages! It's gonna be called Xtreme Midwest Wrestling. They used that acrostic joke already, but nice use of the words yourself too Pretty sure Fukimoto (the owner I think) was in the IWA:MS KOTDM one year at least. So is yours going to be on DVD? I do love collecting obscure deathmatch DVDs I'm guessing you are 'Tripp O'Neal' then huh?

Man, what a bummer. I'm typically not a "negative nancy" or anything, but when I got my SMV e-mail, and saw that there was going to be an IWA-MS show coming up, I got really excited.
I hardly ever come to this board anymore, and I haven't been to an IWA related show since 2007. With that being said, I miss those days a lot.
I pop in old dvd's all the time. I had the privilege of seeing a great deal of amazing wrestling thanks to this company. It really breaks my heart that it has gotten to the point that it has.
I'm not casting blame, and I'm not pointing fingers. All the issues pertaining to the shows, and lack thereof over the past 5 years, or whatever, have been discussed at great length already.
I'm not even sure what the point of this post is...
But if I had to boil it down, I think I just find it sad that it's getting to the point where being a dejected MS loyalist is ALMOST an entirely futile enterprise.
I understand that even at it's peak (which is entirely subjective), IWA was pretty fucking niche. But nowadays it's for all intensive purposes nonexistent.
I know there are folks involved that are trying, and that's admirable, but things have got to change. IF the idea is still to keep the company alive. And I mean that in a realistic, pragmatic sense.
If things just aren't working out, and it's the opinion of those in charge that it's just not ever going to work out, let the small selection of fans that truly care know that.
At this point I'd take closure over ambiguity.
If my days of being an IWA fanboy are over, I'm ok with that. But I'm not ok with where "we" are now. Something has to happen, one way or another.
I had my brief run with trying to promote a show. It's not easy. And like I said, I'm not calling anyone out. People have lives, shit happens, and we all, for the most part, get that.
In closing, I've got some free time. I live in the general area that IWA once thrived in. If there is anything that I can do to help this company, in any way, that does NOT involve me opening my non-existent pocket book, I'd like the power's that be to know I am willing to help.
It's almost 5:30 am. I just hope that a year from now, my thoughts and memories of IWA-MS aren't even less relevant than they are today.

Gotta concur with others. In my case reality always wins over perception and being teased with an event and then cancellation is just too much for the fans who visit this board. You should consider yourselves very lucky we still periodically check on your status. Everyone has jobs, unless you guys work with WWE we understand you make a living elsewhere.

You should consider yourselves very lucky we still periodically check on your status. I must admit I agree with this. I hit this board up every day hoping for some good news or some signs of life, but am continually disappointed. Obviously life is life and things happen. I'm not mad that shows are canceled or anything. What upsets me is that the board leadership is sometimes rude to fans who have been here the longest and suffered through thick and thin with IWA for many years. A simple "thanks for your support" would go a long way. Instead people like rotten4life and others who have stuck with IWA for years get sarcastic, rude comments as responses to words that weren't hostile in the slightest.

You're one of those fans too nick and thanks for the shout out. The true iwa family will always remain intact, shows or not the memories will last forever but....let it die already if its dead ya know. I too know shit happens that causes shows to not happen and that's why I've remained true to the fam, and because i love this company i'll continue to check the board every once in awhile in hopes of a change to the disappointments. As johnny cash said "aint no grave can hold my body down" and the embodiment of iwa, the true fans, will never die and even if new shows cease to exist, the legacy of iwa-ms lives on forever.

I'm glad there is agreement amongst us "old timer" fans about this subject. As angry as the current owners & supporters get when we give them legit criticism, trust me, this level of "incompetence" is not tolerated in the white collar world. I wish I could be nicer and more PC about this but I've been treated like dirt over work and personal issues that were less serious than teasing a show and then pulling out. Maybe when an indy wrestling promoter screws up, there is a greater level of tolerance since fans love the product so much. I for one have learned to hate indy wrestling precisely because promoters do and say whatever the f*** they want and fans are too naive and insecure to respond to it appropriately. I think the appropriate response in this case is to abandon the board and move on, but that's just me and here I am still posting. Anyway I wish almost everyone involved with IWA-MS presently and formerly the best in their current endeavors, I wish Ian and his family the best, and frankly I think us remaining loyal fans are owed closure. Twoheadedboy that was an excellent post, and thanks for bringing along Snubbies or whatever her name was LOL
